Art direction, social media, and type design for The Meat Issue—a newsletter about the complicated conversations around sustainable meat and plant-based diets.

I applied a hand-crafted feel to visually illustrate the nuanced way Prism approaches layered topics. I created new typography by hand drawing letters, resulting in a look that reflected the publication’s belief that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to feeling good. Working hand in hand with a creative director, I also conceptualized illustrations to support the editorial content in a playful way.

The complicated topics presented in the issue sparked discussions and revealed differences of opinion, meeting their goal of illuminating wellness from new angles. Readers responded positively to the fresh take on visuals used for the newsletter and across social media. Prism also continues to use the social media templates I designed for them when they release new content.
